Assessment of Job Satisfaction and Intention to Leave in the Scope of Gender: A Research on Front-Line Employees at Hotel Establishments
Keywords:
Front-line employees, Job satisfaction, Intention to leaveAbstract
Hotel establishments, like other businesses that produce goods, apply a number of incentive applications in order to satisfy customer wants and needs. When these applications are considered in terms of service enterprises and their different characteristics it can be said that the front-line employees play a critical role in the employee-consumer interaction. Based on this information, it is thought that employees' job satisfaction and intention to leave may play a decisive role in their commitment and performance. In the light of the information given above, it was aimed to evaluate the job satisfaction levels of the front-line employees and their intention to leave the job. Job Satisfaction and Intention to Leave Survey was applied to 362 front-line employees working at hotels in Antalya. Reliability and validity dimensions of the scale were taken into account in order to make meaningful results and contribute to the literature. The internal consistency of the job satisfaction scale and intention to leave are as follows; 0.83 and 0.74. In addition to the averages, the t-test was used to examine the relationship between employees' genders and variables.
