Abstract

Although Turkey is not a party in the Second World War, which lasted until 1945, starting in 1939 have to struggle with famine are among the remaining countries. Accordingly, it was thought that it was necessary to understand the lives of women in that period in order to better understand the conditions of the period when access to food was difficult. Gatekeeper theory used for similar studies, all of the numbers with the National Library of the women’s magazine removed in the said period examined between 21.11.2016- 07.12.2016 history, Turkey, the traces of war and social life, The aim of the study is to reveal the changes in social life, food preferences and the effects of these changes on the ingredients used in the recipes. When the materials used in food magazines were examined detail in the period when bread was distributed with ration, it was found that the foods that are considered as luxury today are included in recipes.
