Abstract

The primary aim of this study is to examine the attitudes of undergraduate tourism students in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Türkiye toward the Turkic World across cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions. A quantitative research design was employed, and data were collected from 439 students. Descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, independent samples t-test, and ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The findings indicate that students’ overall attitudes toward the Turkic World are at a moderate level. Among the subdimensions, cognitive attitudes were found to be higher than affective and behavioral ones. Notably, students in Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan demonstrated relatively lower levels of affective and behavioral attitudes. While significant differences were observed based on the country of study, no statistically significant differences emerged based on gender. The results suggest that educational content and cultural exchange programs should be strengthened to foster more positive attitudes toward the Turkic World among students. Accordingly, this study contributes to the literature theoretically and offers practical implications for educational policymakers and stakeholders in the tourism sector.
