Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the socio-demographic characteristics affecting on tourists’ perception of destination competitiveness. For this purpose, differentiation of perceived destination competitiveness according to gender, marital status, age, income level, education status, profession groups is examined. As a data gathering tool, a questionnaire which is formed as a result of a comprehensive literature search was used. A questionnaire was conducted to 400 people who lived in Ankara, aged older 18 and take a holiday for at least two nights. According to the findings obtained from the study, it was observed that the destination competitiveness differs depending on the socio demographic variables. In this context, it is found out that perceived destination competitiveness is influenced significantly by age, income level and occupation group variables.
