Turizm Alanında Yazılan Lisansüstü Tezlerin Bibliyometrik Açıdan İncelenmesi (The Analysis of Postgraduate Dissertations in Terms of Bibliometric Perspectives)

Dissertations are the most important outcomes of postgraduate education. The topics on which the theses focus reveal clear conclusions about the background state of knowledge and experience in the disciplines studied. In this study, all the dissertations that were published in Turkey's National Dissertation Centre until 2019, under the heading of tourism consisting the key words environment, marketing, recreation, management, sustainable and sustainability, were examined and a bibliometric analysis of these dissertations have been aimed. In this respect, this study aims to determine the contribution of these dissertations to the tourism literature within the scope of national index. In parallel with this aim, concerning the highlighted key words, the numbers of the dissertations were defined, and they were classified whether being master's or doctoral dissertations according to years. In this context, it was determined that there were 252 dissertations directly registered to the National Dissertation Center between 1982-2019 and 201 of them were master's dissertations and 51 of them were doctoral dissertations. What’s more, by far the greatest number of dissertations were published in 2018 within the mentioned period. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the most preferred subjects are sustainable and sustainability.
