The aim of the study is to examine the factors that determine the competitiveness of the Turkish tourism sector with its important competitors in the Mediterranean basin. In order to achieve the aim of the study, the data in the Travel and Tourism (T&T) Competitiveness report, which was published by the World Economic Forum in 2019, was used. In the study, Spain, Italy, France, Greece and Cyprus countries were included in the study as Turkey's competitors in the Mediterranean basin. It has been tried to determine the factors that affect the competitiveness of Turkey in the tourism sector in the international arena, both positively and negatively. In the research, qualitative research method was taken as basis and document analysis technique was used as a data collection tool. Descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the study; The positive aspects of Turkey's tourism sector are cultural resources, air transportation infrastructure, tourist service infrastructure, business trips, travel and tourism demand tendency, political rules and regulations, and developments in tourism infrastructure. In terms of environmental sustainability, safety and security, human resources and labor market factors, it was determined that Turkey's place in the ranking should be improved.
