Abstract

Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, which are one of the products of developing technology, have now become applicable in many sectors and fields. NFTs (non fungible token), a product of blockchain technology, provide digital ownership rights due to their immutable properties. Digital artworks produced with this technology, which adds a different dimension to the digitalization process, have the feature of being unique and can be safely stored in the digital environment. It is seen that NFTs have started to be used in many areas and provide various benefits. In this direction, the research is discussed in the context of using NFTs to provide funds for the protection of cultural and natural assets and it is aimed to evaluate the possible advantages of their use. The research is a conceptual study and a literature review on blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies has been made and information on the use of NFTs has been included, and suggestions for fundraising for the protection of cultural and natural assets have been presented.
