Abstract

As part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, there In a globalized world where competition is increasing, hotel businesses apply different pricing methods in order to survive and obtain effectively.From this point of view, the aim of the study is to determine the room pricing methods used by the 4 and 5 star hotels operating in the Southeastern Anatolia Region.Also, it is to determine the elements that affect these methods.For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to the managers of 46 4 and 5 star hotels in Southeast Anatolia Region.Various data were obtained with the questionnaire form created by the researcher.In this context, the scale included in the questionnaire was found to be highly reliable and valid.As a result of the research, it was found that 36 (78.3%) of the participants aged 29 and over were male and 10 (21.7%) were female.In addition, it was determined that 6 (13%) of the hotel businesses operating in the region used cost-based, 5 (10.9%) market-based, 35 (76.1%) cost-based and market-based pricing strategies.In addition, the most important factors affecting the pricing of the hotel businesses examined; supply sources, the number of stars of the enterprise, the expectations of the guests, the quality of the goods and services offered, production, labor costs, occupancy rate, the variety of services and products offered.
