Abstract

Consumers contribute to the protection of the environment with their purchasing behaviors and take care of the benefit of society rather than personal gains. Environmental conscious behaviors shown by consumers in daily life are also effective in people's holiday preferences. The aim of this study is to reveal whether environmental conscious behavior affects tourist behavior. Questionnaire was used for data collection tool. It is aimed to reach the whole universe. The questionnaires were applied face to face and by e-mail in March-October 2017 and 219 questionnaires were found to be suitable for analysis. As a result of the analyzes, it is revealed that environmental conscious consumer behavior is statistically significant in explaining the intention to choose green hotel. It is revealed that environmental conscious consumer behavior is statistically significant predictor of intention to choose green hotels. Also, it is understood that there is a significant difference in the choice of green hotels among non-children and two or more ones.
