Especially in food & beverage establishments that are labor-intensive, which have high personnel turnover rate and simultaneous production and consumption, employees' intention to quit the job has a significant impact on the success of enterprises. Therefore, while accomplishing the objectives of the enterprise, business managers should exhibit leadership behaviors that decrease the employees’ intention to quit the job, which is a very important issue for the enterprises. The main aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the food & beverage employees' perceived transactional/transformational leadership behavior of their managers and their intention to quit the job. In order to achieve this aim, firstly, a detailed literature survey on the subject was made and then by using the purposeful sampling method, information was gathered from a total of 491 employees working in the firstclass food and beverage companies operating in İstanbul with the tourism operation licence. Factor analysis, percent and frequency analysis, correlation and regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the survey technique. According to the results of the study, a negative relationship was found between transformational leadership and the intention to quit.
