The Effect of Sociotropic and Autonomic Personality Characteristics of the Hotel Employees on the Organizational Identification Levels

Abstract

The main aim of this study is to find out, whether or not hotel employess have tendency to sociotropic or autonomic personality characteristics and to examine negative or positive effects of these personality traits on organizational identification. The population of the study is formed, hotel employees in Balıkesir. To collect data for the study, the survey technique was used and the questionnaire form was administered to the 174 employees. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis. According to the findings of the study, hotel employees’ mean sociotropy scale scores =74,25 points, autonomy scale scores =93,77 points and organizational identification scale scores =3,97 points. Findings demonstrate that personal success affects organizational identification positive direction while separation anxiety affects negative direction.
