This study aims to examine the competitiveness levels of Mediterranean destinations. Reveal the forming of competitive market forces is important for determine the position in the Mediterranean tourism destinations competitive market and plan future of tourism. For this purpose, we performed an evaluation and ranking of the 16 Mediterranean countries regarding the 12 evaluation criteria connected to their tourism competitiveness. In this study multi- criteria decision making methods were used. In the process of determining the competitiveness, the weights of the criteria were calculated by AHP method. These weights are used in TOPSIS and VIKOR methods and results of these two methods are compared. Secondary data, comprised of the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index, were included in data analysis. Results show that Turkey’s competitiveness level is medium level in Mediterranean countries. In addition it is determined that that European and North African destinations differ in terms of competitiveness.
