Yerel Halkın Turiste ve Turizme Bakışı: Amasya Örneği (Locals’ Viewpoints Towards Tourist and Tourism: Case of Amasya)

In order to develop tourism in a destination and to obtain positive results, it is important to know the approaches of the residents towards the tourists as guests and tourism activities. In this study, it is aimed to determine the views of the people living in Amasya about tourism and Amasya tourism, which is becoming an attractive destination, by featuring its historical and touristic richness. In this study, where quantitative method was used, a questionnaire was used as the data collection technique. A total of 1037 participants with different demographic characteristics were reached using the convenient sampling method. The data was collected between September 1, 2019 and October 1, 2019. In the results of the study; It is concluded that the public do not agree with the views that tourism causes environmental pollution and that tourists are a bad example for young people, that Amasya has tourism potential and support the activities that are done to develop tourism.
