Yerel Kültürlerin Turist Rehberleri Tarafından Aktarılması (Conveying of Local Cultures by Tourist Guides)

This study aims to examine the opinions of tourist guides who play an important role in the tourism industry on the relationship between local culture and tourist guides, sharing the local cultıre and the gains as a result.It is thought that the study will create an awareness for tourist guides and all tourism stakeholders as well as its contribution to the literature by explaining the importance of learning process of cultural values with examples and conveying them to the tourists.By choosing a qualititive research method for the study,15 tour guides who are currently working in Nevşehir were interviewed.The interviews were transcribed and the texts were analyzed through descriptive analysis.It was concluded that tourist guides should learn local cultures by living in them.As a result of their researches on the subject, it is understood that the tourist guides will add richness to their narratives and they can go one step further professionally.From the opinions of the tourist guides,it has been concluded that the awareness about the local culture will make a positive contribution to the recognition of the destination,increase in the number of days spent, increase in the time spent in the region and parallel to these,there will be an increase in the income level of the local people.Finally,it has been concluded that the increase of the number of museums in which local culture is introduced is very important.
