Abstract

Transformational leadership is about caring about employees’ demands, needs, their motivation, and involving them in the managerial processes, sharing information and encouraging for productivity to meet the requirements of the modern day. Additionally, with the impact of rapidly changing and improving technology, innovation has become an important component for organizations to be able to adjust to both internal and external changes that occur. Considering the relationships between these components, the purpose of this study is to identify whether transformational leadership has a mediator role on the impact of sharing information on innovative work behaviors. In alignment with the purpose of the study, 5 hotels operating in Palandoken Tourism Center in the city of Erzurum were selected as the population for the study and the data collected from 366 surveys were analyzed. The results showed that both implicit and explicit information sharing have a significant and positive effect on innovative work behavior. Another finding from the study is the significant and positive effect of transformational leadership on innovative work behaviors. Additionally, transformational leadership does not play a mediator role in the effect of information sharing on innovative work behavior.
