Abstract

In this research, a bibliometric analysis of the literature on Neulinger's leisure paradigm, which is frequently used in the explanation of phenomena in the fields of recreation and tourism, and which has a very high explanatory power, has been made. With this analysis, it is aimed to get an idea about the studies on the leisure paradigm or leisure theory in the international literature and to draw a general framework on the subject. The findings are presented visually with the VOSviewer program for easier interpretation. As a result of the analysis, it can be said that the studies on Neulinger's leisure theory have increased despite an irregular course. In addition, it is seen that the most publications are made in the United States, England and Canada, respectively, and in article type. In terms of citation indexes, it can be said that the highest interaction is between these countries. As a result, it is observed that Neulinger's leisure theory is becoming increasingly important among leisure theories and is gaining popularity among studies on recreation and tourism. In order to prove this observation scientifically, it is thought that a bibliometric analysis in which the concepts of tourism and recreation are examined together with Neuliner's leisure theory and compared with each other makes important contributions to the literature.
