Abstract

This study aims to reveal how the upward influence tactics applied to the managers by the employees affect the performance evaluation and promotion decisions of the managers. Influencing tactics applied from the upward in the research are independent variables, while performance evaluation and promotion decisions are dependent variables. The research universe consists of managers of accommodation establishments in Rocky Cappadocia. Data were obtained by using the survey technique in the research. For the analysis of the data, basic statistical analysis and correlation and regression analysis methods were used. As a result of the research, it was determined that the dimensions of influencing tactics applied from upward in the accommodation businesses affect the managerial decisions of the managers on performance evaluation and promotion decisions. It has been determined that rationality, ingratiation and coalition tactics, which are among the dimensions of influence tactics that employees apply, have a positive and significant effect on performance evaluation and promotion decisions, while the dimension of upward appeal has a negative and significant effect.
