A Research on Tourists’ Local Cuisine Preferences: The Case of Bozcaada

Local cuisine is food and beverage that made and serviced to customs and traditions of individiuals living in a area. Local cuisine elements have day by day increasing important as other attractiveness had by destinations. So nowadays many researches, focus on important of local cuisine elements. In this study, tourists’ reasons of visit Bozcaada and local cuisine preferences of tourists was tried to detect. Target population of the study is tourists visiting Bozcaada. In this context; questionnaire study was performed with 300 tourist visiting Bozcaada. But 254 questionnaire forms out of 300 questionnaire forms were analyzed. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, mean values of scale, test T, test of One Way Anova have been used in the study. As a result of analyzes; tourists’ reasons of visit Bozcaada were significantly diffirentiated by variables of age and educatiıonal level. Tourists’ reasons of visit Bozcaada were not significantly diffirentiated by other variables. Local cuisine preferences of tourists were not significantly diffirentiated by demographic features.
