Abstract

The research was carried out utilizing qualitative research methods to examine in-depth the unique experiences of local tourists participating in Alaçatı Herb Festival with a package tour. The research data were collected during Alaçatı Herb Festival on April 4-7 2019. The data obtained through structured open-ended questionnaires were analyzed using the content analysis technique and the findings of the unique festival experience were collected under six themes: festival area experience, organization experience, service providers experience, local community experience, entertainment experience, and learning experience. The findings obtained within the scope of the research indicate that detailed comprehension of festival experiences of the participants is very important to create satisfying unique experiences and ensure long-term festival success. The findings that creating unique experiences is the key factor in revisiting the festival are among the important results of the research.
