In this study, phenomenology, one of the qualitative research models, was used to determine the metaphorical perceptions of teachers towards health tourism. In the study conducted to determine the metaphorical perceptions of teachers towards health tourism, teachers working in schools affiliated to Çanakkale Provincial Directorate of National Education were reached and face-to-face interviews were conducted with the teachers. As a result of the interviews, 81 participants produced a total of 66 metaphors. It was determined that 61 of the produced metaphors had a positive perception, while only 5 of them had a negative perception. The metaphors with a negative perception are; Fear, Stress, Airplane, Cage and Fault Line metaphors. In the category of “Health Tourism as a Perception of Spiritual Relaxation”, the metaphors created by the participants show that health tourism is perceived as a search for rest, renewal and inner peace. The category of “Health Tourism as a Perception of Physical Relaxation” emphasizes the aspect of health tourism providing physical recovery.
