Öz

Battlefield tourism is a specialized form of tourism that develops particularly in regions that have hosted historic battles, offering visitors a historical narrative as well as an opportunity to pay respect to the heroism, struggles, and victories of that nation's past. In this context, Volgograd, symbolized by the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II, stands out as a significant indicator of the Soviet Union's victory. The battlefields in Volgograd, in addition to bearing the scars of war, have also become a symbol of national memory and patriotism. The monuments, museums, battlefields, and memorial sites in the city are elements that allow tourists to gain historical knowledge and develop a sense of belonging. With these features, Volgograd attracts both domestic and foreign tourists. Furthermore, in Russia, trips to battlefields are organized to reinforce patriotic feelings among younger generations. These trips aim to strengthen national identity and raise awareness of national values, in addition to acquiring historical knowledge. This study aims to reveal the relationship between battlefield tourism and patriotism. In this scope, a qualitative research design, the case study method, was used to examine the literature, and the theme of patriotism in the context of Volgograd was discussed in terms of its appeal for tourism as well as its role in reinforcing national pride. As a result, it has been observed that battlefield tourism in Volgograd stands out as both a tool for developing national consciousness and a factor increasing the region's tourism appeal.
