A Field Research on Personal Hygiene Practices of Personnels Working in Restaurants of Four and Five Star Hotels in Gaziantep

Abstract

In this research, it has aimed to identify the personal hygiene practices of personnels
working in restaurants of four and five star hotels in Gaziantep, and investigate whether
these practices are statistically significant difference depending on the variable of gender.
In this research was used descriptive survey model and it was carried out in the months of
July and August in 2011 with participation of 200 personnels. 33% of the personnel who
participated in the research are female and 67% are male. When the situation about the
hand, face and foot washing practices of personnel is examined, having highest point
average of both females and males related to “washing hands after toilet” shows that
watched out most to this issue. In spite of that, having least point average among females
of “washing hands before toilet” and among males of “washing hand-face when came
from outside” shows that personnel is not implement enough these practices.
