It is known that there is a correlation between abandonment of the traditional diet and
health problems such as cancer, allergies, obesity and heart attacks affecting every
segment of society in recent years. Understanding the importance of production and
consumption of traditional foods firstly are possible with mother’s awareness and people
who can be an example to society. In this paper, the importance of traditional foods in
healthy nutrition, food production in the home environment with small-scale agricultural
production in home gardens and balconies as a subject of public education was aimed.
