Abstract

Gastronomy tourism is considered as an important motivation tool for national and international travels of people in recent years. Turkey is also among the prominent international gastronomic tourism destinations in recent years. Therefore, the analysis of national academic studies on gastronomic tourism will be an important guide for researchers in this field. The aim of this study is to reveal the general features of articles published on gastronomy tourism in national literature with bibliometric analysis. 84 articles on gastronomy tourism published between 2010-2020 have been reached by using the national database ULAKBİM article search system. Then, content analysis of these articles was made and data for bibliometric analysis were obtained. IBM SPSS Statistics 21 program was used in the analysis of the data. The results obtained from this study shows that published articles on gastronomy tourism in Turkey started to increase since 2015 and the qualitative research methods more preferred by researchers. In addition, in the articles, it is noteworthy that the provinces in the Marmara and Aegean regions are investigated more, while others are less or not.
